Journalism & Media
The CREATORS After School Program has many different offerings.
Below you will find a brief description of each offering in our program. Students will get a chance to paticipate in every Enrichment Club throughout the school year. Each CEC is 7 weeks long. Once the class has ended, students will rotate to the next class, until they have taken every class. We have showcases, talent shows, performances, events and presentations for familes, friends, and the community. Every student that is enrolled in the program is required to participate daily, attend program daily, and follow all program policies and behavior agreements. Sudents that do not follow program policies and requirements can be terminated from program. Please speak to your Site-Coordinator about attendance & program policies.
Academic support is offered to all participants. The homework hour is the last hour of program. During homework time, instructors are available to assist students with their homework but instructors are not responsible for it being completed or correct when they get home. We expect family support in getting students to complete, correct and turn in their homework. We ask all students to bring a book or supplemental academic activity just in case they do not have homework. If a student does not have homework in a particular class or a supplemental activity of their own, instructors have additional resources to help students with core academic areas. All students are required to bring ALL homework, books and materials to their academic session.
We have an amazing Sports program! Every student partakes in the Sports enrichent club, but we also do leagues. Students in grades 3rd-5th can try-out to be apart of our Football, Basketball and Track Leagues. Tournaments and games against other after school program's occur according to availability and weather. Our younger students Kinder-2nd grade can participate in Soccer and track. All Sports are scheduled througout the year. Practice is normally scheduled for Wednesdays and Friadys.

Additional Classes, Events and Partnering Organizations.....
Every Friday there is a program-wide game/activity that takes place (ex: Dodgeball, Kickball, Steal the Bacon, Obstacle Courses, Races, sometimes even a movie.) Our students are always anxious to know what we are doing for Fun Fridays, and hate missing it!
We are looking forward to adding additional tutoring services to our program in 2015. Our ratio is 1-20 in the classroom, which does not give struggling students many opportunities for one on one help. Part of our program fees are going towards hiring a tutor to do small group work with select students. (Teacher referral). We are still in the process of collecting program fees.
WHAT WE DO:
